Steiner Waldorf Class Teacher Training
Three-year part-time training at Raheen Wood School
ISWECA has successfully run the Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Education Programme since 1996, providing training for prospective Kindergarten teachers in Ireland. This training is now entering its fourth cycle.
Now, in response to demand from new schools that need trained teachers, participants of the Early Childhood Education Programme, and others interested in class teaching, a three-year part-time class teacher training is offered in Co. Clare.
This course is designed to meet the needs of people whose work or life commitments mean they cannot go abroad to take up a full-time training. It may be suitable for those who:
-
have children attending Steiner
Waldorf
schools and who wish
to learn more about this way of educating.
-
work within the state education
system and
wish to discover a
more holistic approach to education
-
are untrained helpers within
Steiner Waldorf
schools or
Camphill communities
The
Foundation Year is designed as an orientation year for the
training and is open to those wishing to pursue training for either
kindergarten or class teaching.
The course consists of eight weekend sessions throughout the year and
three five-day sessions at Halloween, Easter and early July. Regular
attendance at a study group in your own locality to read a relevant
text by Rudolf Steiner is also required. There will be three written
assignments each year.
